Why do my Masking ID's look shaded?

Hi all,

This is an issue I have encountered on a few projects now and it make post production almost impossible.

The masking ID channels look to be shaded for some reason, having no flat consistent colourization as they are meant to.

Is this a setting I am unaware of and accidently checked? or a bug?

Thanks for your help,
Tom

Uncheck “Allow Propagation” in the render dialogue?

Really it’s a good thing, it means any changes you make to an object using the mask i.e. colour of brick, will also be reflected anywhere else the brick is seen in reflections no matter how subtle

Hello, I do not have these setting as I am using the CMAsking_ID and CMasking WireColour channels. I am also using corona 6, which I should have mentioned in the OP.

I have noticed through troubleshooting that a material overide fixed the issue as a temporary measure, however I would still like to know what’s causing this specifically if anyone has any ideas?

I can’t remember off the top of my head, but do the materials themselves have the ‘Propagate in Masks’ option in them?
