Why does Self-Illuminated materials have outlines? And can we turn them off?

I’m genuinely scratching my head as to why self-illuminated objects have outlines.

What I expect:

What is rendered:

I can’t alter my overall outline settings, as they’re necessary for the rendering I need. But is there any way to turn off outlines for self-illuminated items or have Enscape treat self-illuminated outlines like foliage?

Hi @Helstern

I understand that the results in case you want to have something like a particle effect are undesirable. However there are many other use cases where self-illuminated materials represent solid materials (e.g. lamp screen, or a monitor) and thus are expected to receive outlines.

Unfortunately it’s not possible to excluded a single material from outlines at the moment. Only specific materials types react differently, e.g. the mentioned foliage or also transparent materials (which cannot be self-illuminating at this point though).
