Thats the beta im assuming…
Yap. Just need to test as I tired of old vista slowness.
Any idea when this is supposed to released?
I read somewhere that it will be released in 2010.
Best regards,
Vlado
Latest news are - it should be ready till the end of 2k9. Beta testig finishes in august.
yes but don’t forget this is microsoft we talking about…
dont they have a history of delaying os release?
plus bear in mind any WIN sucks until at least SP1 is out :))))
but something is telling me this will not be the case from what ive heard so far
i guess VISTA is the same shi* as Windows Millenium used to be at the time…![]()
i got an early copy of xp64 pro and it ran lovely
Ok. Ok.
But this time this new windows is really fast! And got some new GUI, you’d like as soon as you see it.
I installed Windows 7 in bootcamp on my laptop to check it out. Actually looks pretty good, I think it’s more like Vista SP3
so everything seems to work better and the things that were lagging fixed. The biggest notable change for me is the new taskbar, at first I was skeptical, I actually like the current task bar, but the new one seems to be quite efficient. Looks like I might actually be looking foward to this next release. I am currently in Vista x64 and my main problem is I get the “Program not responding” and screen turning white a lot when running heavy programs and files :(, I never got that with XP64.
is windows 7 based on vista architecture?
I’m not sure. Everything looks the same, it feels like an extension of Vista. Also everything that runs on vista works on 7. I think it might be the same kernel.
if you right click on the 3ds max icon, or any program which is giving you white non responsive screen and go properties, you will see a compatability tab. You can check run as, and the select operating system, winxp or win2k (not sure if win2k is available for vista)
that should take care of the problem.
Hey Paul, i’ve recently installed windows 7 x64 and there’s no way to get vray license server work ![]()
I asume it’s probably a driver issue.
“Program needs WIBU-BOX with 250897:7758101.” …and then… “error 36 is occured!” …although the usb dongle is properly connected… ![]()
What do you mean by “installed manually”??
Has anyone ever had any luck on this?
Any help is really appreciated. Thank you so much.
Kind regards,
A.
So, once you have done the beta testing for windows 7 do you then need to re-install everything once windows 7 is released ?
@Steve, I don’t really know but i think you wont need to. It’s more an update matter i believe…
It’s fixed now! I’ve uninstalled drivers and windows 7 had found a proper driver after reboot itself… ![]()
I don’t really understand it, but it works.
A.
Good to know that it works now. We have not yet had a chance to test things on Windows 7 here.
Best regards,
Vlado
What’s the difference between Windows 7 and Server 2008 R2 anyway?
ive read somewhere that the new windows will be a free upgrade for vista users…is that rue??
