I would like a convenient and foolproof way to switch between versions for testing previews.
In looking for a workaround, I have begun installing new versions to their own directory and then tried editing the “loader.rb” pointer to change back and forth. Have not tested enough to know if this is a usable workaround. Anyone else have any tips?
Chris
If you have multiple enscape versions installed into separate directories, then take a look at the Installer/Output folder. Executing the Create-Plugin-Metadata_NoAdmin.exe does this loader.rb stuff for you. (You need …Admin.exe if you have installed for all users) It also performs the necessary steps for Revit/Rhino as well.
Pleane note that this affects only new starts of your CAD software, not the ones currently running. It is possible to have different enscape versions running in different windows this way.
IMPORTANT: We do not officially support this scenario. But it’s better than manually editing configuration files.
