Hi, thanks for posting. We have the bloom effect in our VFB lens effects layer. Is this what you are looking for?
Similar, indeed, but not exactly it.
We could get close if we added a tint to the bloom, then we’d have both the luma key (threshold) and the red-colored blur (halation).
It’s frankly something very easy to do in a compositing application, if one isn’t a stickler for physical accuracy: this looks like a (held, or higher dynamic range than 8bit) luma key
At the net of the theory behind it, if it’s equivalent to a simple 2d approach (which it is, as the footage has no other info than the visible pixels), then it’s good enough.
Also, the Dehancer OFX plugin for Halation is 29 bucks for three months, and 99 for lifetime.
We’ll look into this, but don’t hold your breath.
