Z fighting

I am experiencing an unusual amount of Z plane fighting, I have even offset the road to 2 inches above surrounding terrain’

I have tested it with a direct Sketchup view-port animation which does not z fight:

However in Enscape it’s unusable:

You could cut out the ground plane or?

The way the model is created is so that I can show all phases of construction so there are many layers based on construction stages, The road is a seperate structure that gets added in 2nd phase.

Funny thing is it only fights at far distances.

I’ve had this same problem in Lumion before. The further away you are, the more likely it is to become a problem.

This is an issue we’re aware of. It’s probably twofold in your case: 1. The regular precision issue of depth buffers (in realtime graphics) and 2. our own “z-fighting fix” for overlapping surfaces which might actually make things worse in your case.

We’ve just raised the priority of this issue on our development agenda and therefore hope to come up with a solution for it in future versions!

A workaround could be (until the Enscape team found a solution): split the ground and blend out the part behind the street if the street object is placed.

Yeah I would try cutting the mesh of the terrain like Micha said!
