I think that’s something I noticed in past with VRay Next or the previous… Don’t quite remember which one.
Anyways… I wonder if anyone ever experienced that and let me know why zooming in/out with the camera changes the exposure or brightness? Not really sure which one but you can see that something is wrong.
If I get even closer, the render turns black as if the exposure was set to 0 or something.
In any case and in my opinion, it’s definitely not a desire effect.
Thank you damaggio!
I reckon “Specify Focus” is for DOF, right? I don’t use DOF for that camera so am not sure that’s what causing the issue.
I also noticed that if I change the “zoom factor” directly in VRay physical camera, it doesn’t change the exposure… Neither the focal length affects it.
Sorry Jacques, I rarely use a physical camera and this “Specify Focus” I learned from the Razorcrest lectures found here…https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPwzezRgi_4&list=PLJW-yarFdaptlX0JSXr-_IemJd44jfqwL&index=3
Someone from Chaos should give you a better response. I’ll keep watching the post
Thanks a lot Aleksandar!
I checked the Maya doc and that section with exposure/distance explanation doesn’t exist and I didn’t know it was happening in real life neither.
