  • Anima 6 - Won't Start

    Good day,

I've downloaded and installed Anima 6 and every time I start it, it looks like it's starting with the progress bar getting about a third of the way across, asks me to verify my preferences, (location of projects, purchases, units, etc) - I click Save - it sits there a second and then it disappears and won't start. No message comes up, the splash screen just disappears.

I'm using Windows 10. I just installed the latest NVidia drivers after the first attempts of starting, uninstalling and reinstalling Anima 6. I've tried starting Max 2024 and 2026, and each time it crashes and won't start. I uninstalled Anima 6 and reinstalled the latest version of Anima 5 and it will work.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks,

    Owen

I wanted to give an update -

I installed Anima 6 on a different computer with Windows 11 installed and it seems to be working properly. Both the project folder and purchase folder are set to a secondary hard drive.

After some uninstalling and reinstalling, I decided to leave the default directories for the projects folder and purchase folder on the original computer I was having an issue with. Anima 6 started on the Windows 10 Computer without any problems. I changed the preferences for the projects folder to a secondary drive and it still worked. When I changed the default directory for purchases to my secondary drive - I had the issue come up and it would no longer start. Not sure if that is anything useful for someone else to try if they have a similar issue, but I thought I would mention it.

For me - leaving the project and purchase directory on the default locations seemed to fix my problem.

    Thanks,

    Owen

I also encountered the same issue. Even in windows 11, it still wont open if the purchased model folder changed to my server. Any help with this?

        Same here,
But creating fresh new folders fixed the issue.
Must be an issue when reading old data from existing project and/or purchase folder.

Same issue, loads up with default directories. Switch purchase folder to server so it can render on the farm....crashes instantly
