  • Projection of parallel lines

So my office has been using Chaos Collaboration for sharing panoramic images for the last few months. However, one issue we have noticed is that parallel lines (wood planks, guardrails, tile lines, etc) always look wavy in the Collaboration virtual tours. This behavior is NOT seen when previewed in the VRay frame buffer. I'm attaching pieces of one scene viewed both through the VRay Frame Buffer and through Chaos Collaboration. The whole image is 10000x5000, we've seen it in renderings from as small as 5000x2500. This is also present from output images from Vantage. It looks like an issue with whatever algorithm is used by Chaos Collaboration to reproject the images. Is there a fix for it? It is really not flattering to our designs.

Hello, thank you for bringing this to our attention. Several factors influence how parallel lines are displayed in our panorama viewer. To ensure optimal performance, we currently limit the image resolution to 8000 pixels. Uploading 8000x4000 PNG images will minimize any automatic scaling and potentially improve the visual quality. We can do further investigation and find ways to improve the panorama viewer in the Collaboration service concerning this issue, could you please share links to your panoramas via private message? This will allow us to analyze the issue directly.
