  • VR Headset Support

Are there any plans to implement VR headset functionality when viewing the virtual tours? A lot of competitor products advertise VR support, although how immersive this is I'm not too sure. I believe Enscape previously had the ability to share single panoramas and have them be viewable in a headset, but once the panoramas were compiled into a tour that functionality seemed to disappear.

Our end goal would be sharing a virtual tour link, the recipient opening on desktop and then if they had a headset linked being able to view the 360 panoramas via the headset. (I've never actually tested this sort of set up so not sure how nauseating it might be having to click from one hotspot to the next, and also can appreciate there might be technical issues to resolve beyond just displaying the panorama, but figured I'd ask.)

    Thanks

Yes, we plan to enable VR mode in the Virtual Tours. We disabled it a while back in favor of the browser's full-screen mode, but it will be better to have both options. Currently, the missing part is the hotspot navigation with VR controllers or "gaze" interaction, and hiding the Highlights feature in VR mode at least in the initial implementation.

      Hey Grey Block.

Just as an update. The VR support for Virtual Tours is in development and you can expect a release early next year, some time after the holidays.

      Best regards!

The first implementation is in it's testing phase, nearing release!

It should be released very soon!

I am looking forward to this feature. Has a more defined timeline for the release been established? I am gearing up to introduce this as part of our workflow but I would love this feature to be included first

Yes I'm either missing something very obvious or there's a hidden step somewhere because I'm not sure how to use this feature either

I just had the chance to try the VR mode. It works how I would expect it to. Enter the tour URL into the headset web browser and enable VR viewing with a button along the right hand side. A couple things I noticed... Hotspots that were placed on the floor in a web experience seemed to be floating in the middle of the space in the VR experience. In the VR mode there seems to be no way to view the map or informational ou it would be great if the map or pop up could pop up in vr mode So the user can still experience the fall gamut of information available to the web user. I do like that you navigate between hot spots with the controller it's very intuitive and easy to understand
