View real time render progress and buckets

Testing out chaos cloud for some arch vis stills.
Is it possible to view the render in real time - ie. being able to watch the buckets rather than the current thing that is updated periodically.
Additionally how can we know how much render power is being used on our image?

Hi AlexP ,

1. In regards of your first question to be able to see the rendering buckets while the job is still being rendered, we have it logged in our roadmap. I still can't share a timeframe for its implementation but we'll keep you updated about its progress.

2. As for the rendering power which is used for rendering your image, it depends on several factors. E.g. whether it's a still or an animation scene. But also as we are constantly checking and testing the Google Cloud Platform hardware options, where we are hosted, we might adjust the machines to use a better combination of number of cores and RAM memory (currently from 48 to 96 cores and 128 GB of RAM, but these might change in the future) or a better GPU card (currently from 1 to 4 T4 cards with 16 GB of RAM each, but this might change in the future). As a rule we are treating everyone with the same highest priority by giving everyone access to the best hardware options we have identified. If you'd like, I can share the details for a particular job. If it's more convenient, you can share the job with me in a direct message here in the forum.

So for stills is it distributed rendering or just on a single machine?

Right now it's one dedicated machine per frame (not shared with anyone else). But DR is in the roadmap and it's being tested. So expect more from us soon.
