  • Help needed! - Foam, Splashes not rendering?!?

    Hello!
I'm completely new to both Phoenix Fd and 3dsMax. Based on this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8CTUerRiaA&t=927s I created a scene with a boat, and the simulation seemed to go fine. The preview shows that there is foam and splashes, but when rendering it i get the error message: "rendering mist/splash in point mode with liquid simulator specified will consume additional memory for the displacement. You may disable the Liquid simulator option to prevent this."
I have attached a screenshot of how the render looks like. It seems like the fluid simulation worked out fine, but it's not rendering the foam and splashes. Is this because I don't have enough memory or is there anything specific I might be doing wrong?

Also I just rendered the same frame in 320x200 resolution and it seemed to render the foam. Does this mean I simply don't have enough ram to properly render out the scene? (I've got 16Gb ram)

      Hi louischarles_possover,

Can we just confirm whether or not you're submitting Chaos Cloud (you've posted in the Cloud section)?

From your description, it looks like you're rendering locally. In any case, sending us a scene with the cache files should help us - you can forward it via our contact form, just make sure to mention this thread in the form message. Other than that, please monitor your memory usage when you render high-res. Details about your system - CPU/GPU/driver version would also be appreciated.

Regarding the message you receive, this is just a warning that it might require more memory to render out the scene, it shouldn't be something to worry about.
