  • Render Job Stopping

    Hello!

I have a job on the cloud that is inexplicably "stopping" on a number of frames, some of them were 90%. A couple of "Failed" frames too, but no obvious reason. I'm using 6.00.20. The log details only state "failed subjobs threshold exceeded: 12 subjobs failed". Any help would be appreciated!

    Hi,

Sorry for the problems. We'll investigate. But while waiting, is it an option for you to update to V-Ray 6.1 (Update 1)?

    Thanks,

      Hi again hazel_seo,

After reviewing your jobs with the dev team, I'd like to ask you whether you can share with us an example scene that reproduces the issue. The main error that we see is that V-Ray crashes but it's still not clear why it crashes. We believe the scene will help us identify the reason for the crash. You can share the scene with us either by creating a support ticket, or in a direct message here in the forum. I can help you with details where to upload it as well. Please let me know whether you need such assistance.

[Edit]: We have logged a bug in our project tracking system as well, and if we have an example scene, we'll add it to the description of the bug.

      Thanks,
      Vladie

Seems like updating to V-Ray 6.10.02 fixed it, unclear as to why though. I opened a ticket and uploaded the original scene.

          Hey hazel_seo,

Thanks for the follow-up and the example scene! We'll add it to the bug and investigate further. Also I'm glad that now you have successfully completed jobs. Nevertheless we believe there's an issue and your scene will help us debug it. As you are assisting us a lot, I've asked our Customer Excellence team to assign you 50 Cloud credits as a small sign of our appreciation of your help.

          Many thanks,
          Vladie

            Hi hazel_seo,

We've fixed the bug. If you submit your scene again using any workflow - directly through V-Ray or by manually exporting and submitting it through the standalone UI - it shouldn't fail like that. Please let us know if it happens again.

            Bests,

                Hi yusrah_akintunde,

Sorry for the delay of our reply. I believe we have already answered you in the ticket and we are actively investigating the issue. It seems that the jobs are failing with Out-Of-Memory errors and we'll help you with ideas how to optimize your scenes and lower the memory consumption. We'll continue the communication in the ticket.

                Thanks,
                Vladie
