  • Urgent - PhoenixFDOceanTex problem

Hello, I've been having issues with chaos cloud not rendering the ocean surface properly when underwater, its as if the material properties excluding the foam are missing entirely so you just see the foam layer. Weirdly the material renders fine when the camera is above the water surface. Rendering this locally works
fine too and I've checked Phoenix and Vray are on the latest versions.

Edit: I've tested the scene on rebus and it renders perfectly fine so this is definitely a bug

Hi, thanks for posting. We have this bug reported in our system under VMAX-10477. I will add your thread to it and raise the priority.
If you do not use IOR numbers above 1 for your water material it will render fine from below surface.

      Here is an example:
      refraction IOR 1

      refraction IOR 1.1

      refraction IOR 1.3

I know that a IOR of 1 is not physically accurate for water but if you could use that as a workaround until the issue is fixed that will be great.
