  • Issue with RTX rendering and Caustics

    Hi,
I recently purchased an HP Omen Laptop with an RTX 4070 GPU. I'm having issues with rendering the caustic effects. When I switch to RTX in the render settings (I want to use this because its much more efficient), the caustics menu goes away, and so do the effects.
I'm new to caustic effects and trying to figure out how I can light up spaces with direct sunlight hitting water and refracting onto interior surfaces.
    Thanks

Hi aaron_cole and welcome to the forums!

Caustics effect is not yet implemented for V-Ray GPU RTX and CUDA engines, hence they are hidden from the UI if you swap to RTX/CUDA. They only work with the standard V-Ray CPU renderer at the moment
That being said, the next version of V-Ray GPU will have an implementation of Caustics, we are working on that at the moment.

    Best,
