  • Frame buffer corrections shown in final result

    Hi,

During rendering, the frame buffer corrections are visible, which is great even though they might not be intended to be saved into the image at the end. However once the job is complete, it shows the original RGB with no corrections applied, regardless of whether the corrections are set to be saved into the image or not.

It would be handy to see the corrected result on the cloud once the job is complete. Is that possible?

    Thanks,

    Hi ,

Can you please share with me the job URL (you can do so in a direct message if you prefer)? I'll get the job ID from the link and investigate the job in our backend admin. This shouldn't happen as applying color corrections to the final image is a supported feature.

    Thanks,

        Hi James,

Thanks for sharing the job. Can you please download the EXR output image, open it in the VFB and check whether you see the color corrections? Looking at it from our backend admin it looks like the color corrections are applied. But please check and let me know.

        Thanks,

No, we chose not to have the corrections applied to the EXR output image. Reason being is that we wish to fine tune them once downloaded from the cloud by reloading them in the VFB locally.

Even so, we thought that the cloud should show these corrections once the job is complete. Regardless of whether they are set to be applied to the EXR or not.

          thanks,

Thanks it would be super helpful during the render review process. We tend to roughly apply vfb corrections before uploading to the cloud. Then fine tune them once downloaded.

It’s fine if we are watching the render on the cloud as the corrections are visible. But if we go to a job that has completed, it doesn’t show any of the corrections. Which makes it difficult to review the render and decide whether we need to re-do anything without downloading it, opening it and applying the vfb corrections.

Perhaps if it is possible, a simple tick box to turn on/off showing vfb corrections whilst viewing renders on the cloud?

                Hi James,

I'm sorry for not responding. Your suggestion makes sense. We just investigate the case a bit further as we want to be sure that everything works as expected. There might be a bug. I'll follow up once we are ready with the tests.

                Bests,
