  • Plugin Requests

Is there a place where we can make requests for supported plugins? We have started using Cityscape Pro in our workflow and have been limited as it is not support on Chaos Cloud.
There seem to be a number of plugin that aren't supported, whereas other render farm solutions do.

    Thanks!

    Hi carlos_charry,

This forum is a good place to request support for unsupported plugins in Chaos Cloud. I'll check with the V-Ray for 3ds Max team the status for Cityscape Pro and will follow up with you most probably early next week.

Thanks for reaching out to us!

      Hi again,

Sorry for the delay of my answer. Currently we don't have information for Cityscape Pro. Can you please share whether you have tried it in Chaos Cloud and it has failed?

      Thanks,

Please can I add GrowFX to this list - the object itself & the GrowFX Multimap plugin. Use them on every project.

          Hi TerriBrown3D ,

Can you please share with me a Chaos Cloud job with GrowFX where it hasn't rendered as expected? I'll check with the V-Ray for 3ds Max team whether it should be supported when submitting to Chaos Cloud.

          Thanks,
          Vladie

            Hi vladie

I actually used cloud yesterday for the first time, and when submitting my job I received a whole lot of error messages. So I went online and saw that GrowFX is not supported (https://docs.chaos.com/display/VMAX/...orted+Features)

I then went and converted all GFX objects to meshes, and had to swap all GrowFX Multimap Textures for Mix maps - which in fact aren't as adaptable. Then the error messages disappeared. So I'm afraid I don't have a scene to show you as I assumed I couldn't use GrowFX. But it definitely WOULD save so much time if you didn't have to optimise your scene like that, and I was in fact surprised that GrowFX isn't supported as it's such a common plugin.

              Hi TerriBrown3D ,

Ah, I see, I'm sorry for missing this information. I'll ask the V-Ray for 3ds Max team what the plans for adding support for GrowFX are. At some point they fixed an issue and it should have been supported. But it seems later this has changed. I'll follow up here as soon as I have something.

              Thanks,

TerriBrown3D basically, there shouldn't be any problems with the GFX meshes and they should be converted properly to vrscene data and rendered on Chaos Cloud. As I see it, only the use of the GFX Multimap is the limit here. Can you please confirm?
If it was that easy, it would have already been done

                  Hi matanov

well I can't really confirm as I collapsed all my gfx meshes to editable meshes. But I was going to say that I thought that's the case regardless - the issue with the multimap. Is that something you are looking to incorporate going forward?

                  Thanks

Unfortunately, there are only 2 requests for this logged so far. The priority will be changed as soon as there are more. For now you can use the GFX meshes without the special texture in Chaos Cloud.
