  • Basin still for add

Hi, I'am in the middle of creating several images to promote a vanity sink I designed. Such product used Phase vapor deposit in different color (chromium, brass, copper, black titanium...) . Here is the first one, professional criticism are welcome.

I used vrayscan mat to overcome my poor mat skill and speedup the process.

My eyes are not goof enough to make it look photoreal. The lighting, as an exterior scene, was not strategic but the camera point of view was more challenging.
I tried to add some fog in Post prod to help the background to fit with the render, but that was not convincing, maybe I should render another pass with a different ozone value and add in post prod. there should be a way to merge the background and the foreground in a more photoreal way.

The HDRI and Vraysun are matching and the Backround is the same as the Dome lighting solution.

A true artistic eyes will find out how to improve this image by at least 50%, myself, more i stared at it and less convincing I am.

I tried to used rebusfarm for the rendering, but I took 1 days (ADSL) to upload the file, and every change need to reopload the full scene again, so that's a never ending process...Hope vray farm will be more efficient with scene upload and management.

Please CG artist, retoucher.... share your valuable eyes.

    HI Fraggle,

IN my oppinoin main problem with your image is lack of focus. Basin should be the centre of atention. Everything else is secondary and should be there just to help make basin more prominent. Currently my eye is drawn first to seating, than sun, than chair and finally basin. What I'd do? Move camera so basin is more to the middle, remove camera distortion (too a wide lens), use DOF to blur unnecessary distractions, cool the background and worm up the basin (or vice versa). Hope this my help.

How big is your scene file. 1 day for an upload. I had scenes that were 100x times heavier than this that uploaded in an hour (cable but still). Working with XREF/XREFobjects can keep your main scene very light for props that don't change, so you don't need to reupload them to rebus. That's how I work. My main scene file is max 50MB compressed. But the project might have a total of 3-4 GB on assets that don't necessearly have to change.

Vizioen, you are probably on optic fiber while I'm stack with ADSL.
Zoranm thanks for your valuable feedback.
Here is the new camera Angle. I keep wide angle and correct a little the distortion but not too much because otherwhise it look strange.
