No tricks, this is straight splash and foam generated on hit. I animated the ship hull with pitch and roll so it reacts better with the ocean surface. The wake is straight splash threshold generated foam, and the foams beside the ship are from bow wake splashes. I added a wave force (value 1) to the ocean sim with a low res oceantex displacement, Then copied the oceantex into the rendering scene with high detail. Everything is single pass, no post. I love working with your software!

Very nice, ocean integration including the waveforce seems flawless...its been a while since my last ship-in-ocean sim, so I donĀ“t know how much is your trickery or just improvements on Phoenix side, lol...
The rocket needs a bit more love now though, looks like either more resolution, vorticity or a change of scale is needed to make it look more dramatic...Last edited by ben_hamburg; 08-08-2018, 02:44 AM.

The ship was launched in 1958 and scrapped in 2004, My tour of duty was 1977 to 1980. Our crew reunion is next June so I have some time to work through the details.
Still need to add gun shoot simulation on the 5-54 bow gun as well as ASROC launch plus walkabout tours on deck, at least 10 camera paths.
The realistic ocean and foam add enormous value to the video.
