  • Still allive and working.

Well i havnt posted anything in here for long, so now someting small , wip.

Usualy we do about 20 to 30 Parfum flacons per month and some Architektures, but our clients dont want us to show them, so i only can describe them. they are soooooo beautiful ......

    no realy.

now this is some wip for a smal demoproject. a short animation where the smell of a rose slowly diffuses into the air, very small drops flying away, comming together solwly building up a bigger drop that after a while morphs into a Parfum flacon.

We decided for this because its very near to our usual clients wishes, but also needs some special effects, like realflow, glue3d, pf, and maybe afterburn. in the immages thers still no sss. hope this will not stay as a half finished thing as usual. ...

its very early wip. so telll me what you think

gorgeous modelling. Lighting wise, not sure what look your going for, but a really good 3 point light setup would really help. Specifically some rim lighting. Looks really good so far.

The drops are interesting Can you explain?

The flowers model is great but I can't decide if I like the materials. It looks to be lacking that extra glossy reflection at glancing which makes it look as soft as it is (almost like velvet). You may not want to use translucency for an animation of this level but you should at least fake it with a falloff. In reality it would be hard to get that black of shadows so far out on the petals. I think it could use a little more work for this close up is it mapped? Some subtle veins would be nice too.

It's violet but a good reference.

        Here is another interesting reference...

          Hi Tom !

The shape is very interesting, a lot of work, congrats.
We can see some veins, no ? A little bit too much "blured", diffused ?

So , yes you haven't finished the light the sss and the depth of field.
And the background ? something more white/pink would not be more interesting ?

          Good luck !

            Hi,

Yes still only some very first impressions here.

The drops are a simple particlesystem using a group of different spheres that are modified with some noise.

It was only for getting an idea of how the drops will look like.

Yes there are some mappings on, while i am not quite sattisfied yet. as you mentioned, some velvet like effect would be great, glossys also could be mapped ore maybe a fallof.

i had a rose over here, and the most subtil effect came from some sss effects , but i think ill stop on this now, and see how the whole animation will look like. I alllready did some testings with pf, emitting very fine particles like a cloud like moving in the soft wind.

When the storrybording and previewrenderings are finished, ill update this untilll we come to an end.

Thanks so far for your suggestions.

            Tom

I should have been more specific. The lens effect on the drops is what's interesting me. Keep us posted on it's progress.

              Thanks,

                Hi Trapezium

The lensz effect is what usualy happens if you do depth of field. like in realworld you get a bokeh effect. thats all. no special here
