      you’re right, it was too messy to fix hence gray.
      sun went up to around 30 in size for the soft one.

          Not bad ....I don't know, I always feel I need to add something more. So this is VraySun and dome with the sky? What are the multipliers?

            sure, add something more. like defined light and shadow. that will help with “flat look”. VRaySun is more than enough for that. keep it at 1.0, VRaySky in dome is easy but portals are faster and cleaner. play with position, size colour, you can wire VRaySky map through Color Corection map to desaturate it if needed etc.
            and if you are still working on your shaders it’s just easier to have reliable and predictable sunlight. not some random environment map.

                Three images also use the same setting? what is your camera setting for those images?

                  default camera settings without vigneting and slower shutter to account for interior shot. white balance, burn and contrast adjusted in VFB. all three images were rendered with the same sky locked in position (position from first image) and just sun angle and size was adjusted.
