just had a little fun with a cat model i got from 3dsky.

    looks cool!
Was the cushions underneath it deformed manually or you used cloth simulation/Sculpting for that ?

Simply, I love to put pixels together! Sounds easy right : ))

Hello, none of the above actually.
I had a model of a pouf which was modelled like that already so i just carefully positioned the cat so it looked natural. I guess i was lucky finding the right model quite quickly.
This was all a quick job and it took only an hour or so to it all up.
I might come back to it tomorrow to fiddle with those eyes a bit more, ill see ))

I will also test a few render settings at some point to see if MSR has any effect on this or not.
Something tells me this one will be only about giving it sufficient amount of AA.

I like it! I did a quick photoshop of the plant in the background, I always like a warmer green for plants. I'd try some other materials for the pouf - otherwise I love the cat and those eyes. Neat rendering, thanks for sharing

              Good Job!
I agree with Brendan that the pouf needs a little material work. Other than that it looks great.
              Cheers,
              Oliver

                Here is an update.
Went easier on those eyes. Completely redone the fabric and added some fur to it to mimic work out look a bit. Also i gave the image a bit more contrast.
Now, i am working on a really shitty monitor so hopefully those ranges are ok.
Up next, i will try to add a little SSS to those big ears

The fabric looks much better now
looking forward to see what you will find with your experiment in MSR vs AA too.
As there is fine details here with DOF, I think you can't go much lower with your AA than the default but I might be wrong

I am currently at 1/50 with aa and msr at 50 but i think its not necessay so ill drop the msr to 6 and see the difference in time and quality.

What did you use for the hair? Hair&Fur or something else?

For this type of job, the default should work better

                        Best regards,
                        Vlado

Yeah Vlado i am getting terrible times with 1/50 i will have to try with default and see if there is any difference in quality. The cat has max Hair Fur set to mrprim and the count of hair is 2000000. Is there any way to convert this to vray hair and keep the style btw?
and also, if youre already in the thread, do you guys plat for the vray fur hair to be mappable along the z axis? So that the root part can jave different color than the tip??
