Invisible and reflexion yes, but i leave the key light visible for specular. Its really from project to project. Depends on how big my windows are and what i want the light to do. I start with simple lighting rig and if i want something more complicated or more realistic as some might say, i use vray dome light for the fill and in some ocassions veay sun for key. I always see inipr what works best at the beginning. But one thing is for sure and as Lele said in one of the threads.... there are three parts that need to be balanced. Exposure, light levels and material color levels. If you know the values of the two of them, the third isnt so hard to guess. Almost like an equation.

Oh dear i guess this is gonna stick with me )

Hi Pixela, i would not call it a method, i only suggested to Crayoux a very simplistic way of lighing up interior only by plane lights that on some cases is easier than working with unpredictable hdris or way too powerful sunlights while still getting nice contrasts and interestil light moods. Surely , with your quality of output and ways of lighting interiors, you are not missibg anything special )
its explained in another post by Crayoux -hopefully spelled well - where hes having issues with interior looking too flat.

this reminds me of the pre-GI days where you had to think about how to set up your lighting to match your desired look. Many have forgotten or never learnt the art of creative lighting.

true, today a lot of people just chuck in a hdri, hit render and expect wonders.

Why not just use a V-Ray Sun/Sky if you are going this route? I tried it and it works, but I don't see any render time increase. It is easy to set up, however, the V-Ray Sun/Sky is faster and I think V-Ray is kinda optimized for it.

Flexibility and art direction. I personally find Vray Sun/Sky tricky and rather limiting when it comes to colour adjustments.

I rather like Juraj Talcik approach to lighting, https://corona-renderer.com/forum/in...9258#msg109258

Fair enough I don't use it either, but two planes seems very similar, only it seems you are missing benefits of wrapping the sky around your scene.
