  • Car porn timelapse

Ever seen one of those car porn videos on YouTube showing a gorgeous car with some great cinematography?
I am doing a lot of Car visuals professionally and just wanted to do something different for a change.
I'm a vray cloud beta tester btw and all of the footage was rendered with it.
In the beginning there was a lot of fails with the cloud with the hdris sequence I used and ram and whatnot.
But after a few months I finally got to the point where I can say I am finished with this video.

Would love to hear your opinion.

Yeah nice work, although crit wise, and i will be using bullet points for an air of professionalism
      • I find the car horns at beginning a bit distracting, i'd rather something subtle..building up to the snap of the music that kicks in. maybe just bird noises with the sun rise...something soft to offset the tunes.
      • First shot is a bit long and goes too low.
      • Speed of timelapse clouds are a little too fast for me.
      • LIke the sunset but theres a weird lag in camera and the way the car goes off the the right is a bit odd. maybe have a still cam with car still prevelant with sun setting. I would maybe have this as the last shot too with credit coming up at end...seems to be more relevant to the sun going down.
      • Generally i dont think the speed of edits match the music...needs to be more and snappier.

      good stuff tho..

The sky is 585 HDRIs which I bought on Hyperfocal Design. https://www.hyperfocaldesign.com/tim...-sky-full-day/
Thats probably the only real thing in there, except for textures and vrscans of course...

          thanks for the feedback!
Mmmh, I wanted to convey right from the start that we are in a city... I guess the sounds are a little too loud, taking into consideration that we are on a pretty high rooftop...

It was faster and thus shorter in the beginning but the speed of the timelapse and the fast camera movement were irritating. I could cut the first one, the low camera is probably unrealistic anyway. But I just love the detail of the ground

Yeah, I should have probably blended between each frame and slowed it down at least twice or three times the speed. But unfortunately 3dsmax cant do that and then I would have had to export it from After Effects and use even more disc space. The exrs are already taking up around 12gb! And I was using the 4.25gb LDR frames for something else in the animation, so double the work and double the space. Lazy excuse, I know :P

I really liked the last one as the hero shot to end it all. As you said, the car off to the right is not the most heroic way to show it. Personally I like these kind of compositions and wanted to do at least one, so I threw it in there, showing the sunset.

Really? Well, it is certainly not perfect, but I tried a few and found this speed to be pretty good.
its hard to find good Creative Commons music anyway, dont you think?

I dunno i just thought seeing as the music tempo is pretty fast you could have got shorter edits that hit the same beats, maybe with faster camera tracks, or fastmo /slowmo rotations around the car etc...or maybe ones with a fast ease in. (im not explaining well

The rooftop sun set is a nice shot, but like you said so you want that for sure, but if the car isnt the center of attention then it weakens it...maybe the sunset on the very last shot would work better?

The found the detail of the ground a little heavy too.in that the holes in tarmac seem overdone on the first shot, a bit more subtle would be better maybe...look good on the top down tho.

anyway, the crit im giving is being quite picky as its pretty slick as is

Why would the logo be crooked though?
