Wow that's looking great. Nice job on the lighting, everything. You still didn't fix that silver wine bottle in the first image though...

Exellent lighting and detail. What bothers me a little bit is the darkness of the glasses, I expect them to be less reflective and lighter in color.
The spherical camera adds to the realism, although it is a bit much. The images deserve a higher GI setting IMO.

Yeah, i agree. The rugs came off the internet...

They wanted rugs in the top 2, but I didn't want to mess em up

jujubee, I read your comment bout the wine bottle. It was supposed to be a black champaigne bottle. You should have seen the 1st rendering, it looked like a katsup bottle lol. I would have changed it if I had time, this project has been kinda low-priorty till the deadline (today) of course

            Thanks for the comments!

The first two images are superb. The view out of the windows is perfectly exposed - how did you do it?

The other two images don't match the quality of the first two, but easily could with better lighting and higher quality GI.

Nice and serene. I agree with the above posts on the rugs and overall quality on the last images. I'm very happy to see an interior rendering done with a curved lens, though on the later images the amount seems excessive. Make curved lenses a trend....death to skewed linear perspective

Btw....which one of the lens types did you go for, the regular spherical, or the old style one?

                        Good job Randy,
you might want to adjust your AA a little bit, there are some jaggies around the wine glasses.
The spherical camera looks good, but maybe tone it down a little bit as it appears that the ceiling is curved.

                        Keep up the great work!

Hey guys/gals, I'm glad you like them (top 2)

                          Fran: The background:

I tried using a mapped cylinder but I couldn't stop the GI from hitting it so I rendered it and used it as a background.
It might be the window glass material. I had trouble getting a vray glass to look right so I used a standard material:

There is also a very heavy glow applied in PS which blasted out the windows.

trixian: thaks so much for your suggestion on curved lenses! I used a cylindrical point. umm... other than overide fov I don't see any other way to tone it down. help?

                          thanks percy for the rugs!

                          happy monday forum,
                          randy.

hey room217, here is a little tip for you with your backgrounds. put the mapped cylinders material into a material wrapper and disable the GI for it so it doesnt give off or recieve any GI. its just wasted samples for it to recieve GI when its already 100% self illuminated. Next you will want to look in the vray object perameters for the "dont affect GI" option. this means that GI samples can go right thorugh it allowing environment light to enter the scene. also set it not to cast or recieve shadows either under normal max perameters.
