  • "Afternoon" - CG ArchViz animation

Hi. I'd like to share with you my personal project i've been doing from some time after work.
It is a short CG archviz animation based on 6Th Ave in New York, near 1221 Avenue of the Americas building.
Animation done completely by me. All scenes modeled in 3ds max and rendered with Vray Next, which is amazing rendering engine!
Compositing and post-production done in Blackmagic Fusion Studio 9 and editing in DaVinci Resolve 14.
During creation this animation i was using Poliigon textures, which are really fantastic and high quality stuff!

Thanks Vlado. It's amazing to read that you like it. I mean - YOU ) THE Vlado )
It took me about three weeks to complete the project. I was doing this after work, in my freetime, so - it's total time if i would summarize and assume that worked 8 hrs per day and only from monday to friday.
And to be honest - it was amazing experience and a lot of fun with V-ray. I remember when i was doing stuff on V-ray 1.39 or something about this ( prepasses were calculated by scanline, not buckets ) . Since then i use V-ray only. And i'm not going to switch to any other engine

      Best regards

Nice! The people kind of kill it for me, but there doesn't seem to be a good solution.

          Great work !

I actually liked the people, apart from the last one (the man inside speaking on the phone) - his lighting is off (least realistic of them all).

Where did you get the people from ?

I was actually going to ask about the people.... thanks for sharing where they came from. I think they work well! did you use madcar for the traffic?

Thanks for comment. No, i animated them manually. It wasn't needed to use plugins, because there is straight and simple movement.

They look great to me. How did you light the balcony shot, Vray Sun?

Thanks. Yes, it was VraySun. HDRI only for reflections, but at the end i replaced background in compositing stage.

good job! also the sound is supporting the picture very good! For me - personally - the dof at 30 Seconds is feeling too miniature...
