  • 9990K or thredripper for 2X 2080TI setup?

hi guys, i received so many different answers
to this question so i hope here you can help me finally decide on the right spec for my next PC. I will use this PC as my main PC for both modeling and shading in 3dsmax and some SP, PS, AE, rendering most of the time with VRAY NEXT GPU with 2 NVLINK 2080TI.
my delima is that some people advice me go with the 2950X AMD
and say that the 2950x is also fast in singlecore and productivity day to day usage with 3dsmax but i could also add him as a fast cuda device to speed up the render. on the other hand some suggest me to
go for the fast Mhz 9900k saying that i will see greater day to day usage in 3dsamax performence and all the extra cores of the 2950x will not benefits me at all. what do you guys think will be a better option?

You should probably go for the 2950X for many reasons..
XFR2 on the 2950X reaches up to 4.4 GHz which is really good, not far behind the 9900k
With 2950X you can add 2 more cards later to your setup whenever you want
This will not be possible with the 9900k which has 16 lanes.. The 2950X has 64 lanes, 48 of which are dedicated to your GPUs, so you can run 4 cards at x8,x8,x8,x8 without issues
Some boards can run 4 cards with the 9900k with PLX chip, but this causes many issues and you will stick to 2 cards only
Another reason to go for the 2950X, is that it is 40-50% faster in rendering.. Even if you use Vray GPU, you can fully utilize your CPU through hybird rendering for faster rendering
Third reason is that the 9900k runs extremely hot if you remove the TDP limit in bios(some boards has this by default). you will need a very good AIO for it
If you use limited TDP for the 9900k it will be much slower than the the 2950x.. still the AMD will run cooler and you can get a cheaper air cooler for it like Dark Rock Pro TR4, it runs silent and you can do overclocking with it
If you use premiere a lot, I think the 9900k will be better option as it has an IGPU, and still to this day Adobe apps are not as fast on Ryzen CPUs(Adobe's fault)

Check out the X399 Gaming Pro Carbon from MSI, it can fit 4 cards nicely
      Or the Aorus X399 Extreme

Thanks muhammed now i understand the 2950x is a better cooler option and more upgradable future proof. So 2950x it is.
