My third attempt at an interior (1st one shouldn't count lol...) I'm unemployed so I need to create pieces for a portfolio. I'm hoping that some of these might suffice and could help me find work.

Looking good my friend .. just a few comments ..
The background image doesnt match the overall lighting. ( add it in Photoshop).
You have some light leaks in the Window frames in the ceiling .. use check sample visability.
And that plant isnt good .. ..
The cutain material is really nice, but you have something going on at the top of them .. they are bowing out at the tops.
I think your AA needs to be a touch higher to pick up the wires for the shades.
Apart from that great images ..

i think they're all good renders, but something seems a bit wrong with them... like the scale of some of the furniture is off slightly - the worktop looks a little high perhaps? the oven seems small... can't really put my finger on it.
i don't think the exteriors are vert well matched to the images - too much colour outside really throws off the balance of the images IMO.
maybe try putting some more colour into the interiors to balance them out a bit - it all looks a little cold and grey at the moment - especially the table.
sorry if that all sounds a bit critical. i didnn't mean it to be!when the going gets weird, the weird turn pro - hunter s. thompson

Thanks for the comments and critiques. It's all very helpful. I forgot to add that I used Timmatron's stainless steel material to some of the objects here.
@Natty - Three people have mentioned the background image now - I guess it definitely has to go. As for photoshoping it in, I'm a little bit puzzled about how I would handle the transparency of the curtains. As for blowing out at the top, I'll have to look into it.
Check Sample Visibility - you suppose this should always be on???
As for AA, I had it set to Catmull-Rom - you think I would have been better off with something like Sharp Quadratic?
The plant does suck...
@sOreal - the cameras are all a little tweaked to get parts of the image to fit. There are some funny angles going on as I should have made the room wider. I didn't work from any CAD drawings - I walked around my house and measured everything by ruler to get an idea as to how big/high furniture really is.
I like the grouts...
@Da_elf - the fridge is from e-interiors.

It is a wierd design. Why don't you copy some real photographs? Then at least you can have "before and after" for your portfolio.

To be honest I think you should work a little more on the lighting. I think it is lacking a lot of GI detail and it has a grayish atmosphere. It could use some color, probably you only used 100% white lights?
Anyway, they are not bad, but there is room for improvement, especially with regard to lighting.
As for AA, you might want to check out this thread:

Hey jujubee
Good that you posted it dude.
See I told you that you wouldnt get roasted...ahhh wait...well atleast you know where to improve hehehe
The few things that I see needing to be changed are the wine color...looks like ribena to me.
The bench height just seems wrong, would be quite trick to cook anything there IMO.
And the curtains, need to be a shade more realistic and be hanging from something, Sheer curtains like that wouldnt be attached the way you have them. If they were thick velvet draps then maybe but not sheer curtain, sheers tend to have a strip of fabric sown across the top and this is then hooked onto the track, therefore none if it sticks up above the track.
Anyway food for thought (..mmm slight pun intended)
Good work mate, i really like the full view of the long bench. Looks great.
