    Hello,
this is my very first post to the forum. Images are from my first big project rendered with vray renderer. It is from my school semester project concerning SonyStyle store interior.
    c&c are very welcomed

Welcome to the forum! A great way to start off things. My only CC is that the 'Sony Style' is a little hard to read - perhaps just a personal preference. Other than that, good job.

You are right with that SonyStyle sign. I wanted to tweak it with new render but that scene took enormous long time to render. Don't know if the problem was with some materials or a lot of IES lights. Or maybe all together. I was planning to figure it out but long render times are killing me.

        Nice job

Your carpet weave is way too large.

Just hide all the other objects and lights other than the floors and walls to tweak that sign

Thanks a lot for very usefull hint.
But to make sure. You meant it like this. To turn off everything else than non IES lights, floors and walls, render the scene again then join and finish renders in post production?

That carpet weave is pain in my eye, but as I mentioned before long render time is my big problem. I do only have single mobile AMD 64 2800 MHz with 768 MB of RAM, but I'm starting to work on DR with my Athlon XP 2600 MHz so I hope that it will get better. [/quote]

I'm saying that you don't need to see everything to tweak one area of your render....

Hide all objects and lights inside the store and leave your walls and the Sony style sign.

Turn down your Image Sampling (Antialiasing) and Indirect Illumination settings.

Then render at a lower resolution until you get a sign that produces enough light and is also well lit itself.

If I'm not mistaken that sign is made of molded plastic. If you think about it, it really wouldn't produce as much light as the surrounding lights so you should see some shading and specular highlights to define it's form.

After all that reset all of your rendering settings for the final image.

            Keep up the good job

You can also decrease the Global Subdivs in the QMC Sampler from 1.0 to 0.0 - that's a great way to preview renders.
                Best Regards,
