  • It's been a while.... :-)

    hey all,

    it's been a while since I've been on here.....but I thought I'd share some of my later peices I did.
    They still need some tweaks here and there, but I pretty much run out of time for this go around.

      I've only seen a few beds and pillows that looked believable. Yours are close, but still have that definite CG look.

      Other than that, though - excellent! Those are some great images.

                      thank you much for the replies and comments...really appreciate it, especially after being gone for a while from here

                      I see most of the old timers are still here ...which is great

                      no, I'm using Imap+lightmap (cachemap). I haven't used photons in a while....and although they give good results, it seems that the lightmap+Imap combo gives faster and more accurate results, especially in the corners of walls or things like that. I usually do all my testing w/ Lightmap+Lightmap,and low Imap+lightmap when I'm trying to tweak reflections and speculars on the mats.

                      This was the first time I used some of the settings and setup ways that vlado outlined in his tutorial using flipside's interior scene. By that I mean using the global subd. multiplier as a general control rather then bumping up all my other subdvs. Then adjust for the hemisp. sudiv. to take into account the increase in the global multipier.

                      here are the settings final rendered @ 1200x900:
                      they took around 2.5 to 3 hours to render at these settings....I could probably optimize them even further....

                        Hey Paul, good to see ya back.

                        Really nice work, textures lighting and modeling all look great. If I were to pick on one thing it would be the shadows on the bed under the table look a bit dark doesn't really detract from the image though.
