This was a strange one. I got an email a few weeks ago about a rush job, that I turned down. They said that they would do it in-house. Two days ago I got another email about how they got more time, but it was still a rush job???

Anyway, here is the color proof.

Better sky here would add a lot. Also a little bit more warmth on the greanery. Roof is with rail clone ?

The roof is displacement. I have yet to find a way to do a nice asphalt roof in RailClone. I reached out to them and they said that they can't to a roof for every type, however, in the US 95% of all roofs are asphalt. For the sky, after 15 years in V-Ray, I have yet been able to swap a sky out in PS. I get major white fringing that I just can't get around.

You would have to recompose it in post to have a sky on a separate layer: https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...+%7C+RGB_Color
Maybe there is another way, im not sure.
I could try to make it in reail clone, do You have a reference of a specific type You need ?

Either Architectural or 3-tab - that cover 95% with a ridge cap.

Did You try adding the vray background element and subtracting it in PS ?

Oh, I tried everything. I haven't tried it in a long while, so maybe I'll give it a try again, soon.

hmm, I know you have to have the background environment all black to avoid that white fringing.I have found that problem occurs if the vray sky is on in the environment background dialog. Presumably also if the hdri is on in the environment background when rendering. I think having that environment background unchecked and color=black should avoid the white alpha channel fringe. Hope this may help but maybe I am missing something.

Believe me, it was a problem for a long time and I tried everything; I just gave up. If I need a very specific background I'll use a backplate in my scene.

Seems odd 2 me. I use the alpha and composite background photos into my scenes in Photoshop for almost all of my vray renderings. Only time I get that white fringe is if I do the final render with the environment dialog background accidentally turned on. You have your workflow and you are very successful with it so....no need to fix what is working for you now.
