I've searched the forums and haven't found a clear answer so sorry if this has come up before. I am considering building a rig with a Quadro 4000 for monitoring and a pair of 1080ti cards for rendering. Here's what I'm trying to figure out:
- Do I need both the Quadro driver AND the standard driver installed? Any problems having both installed like this?
- What is the correct installation process for this to work as expected? Is it necessary to install the 1080ti cards/drivers first, then remove the 1080 cards from the machine, switch the monitor cable to the Quadro and install that driver, then put 1080 cards back into machine?
- On the off chance that I want to use one of the 1080 cards to drive the monitor (e.g. for gaming), can I just run a cable from one of the 1080ti cards to the second input on my monitor, or does Windows disable the additional cards at boot?
