I really like this house! We have these green and white houses up here, in the Northwoods.

Thank you. Long render times on these, so I hope I don’t have to render them out again. However, if a client has another revision they’ll use itBobby Parker

I got a reply... you know, just a list of things they want to be corrected. One thing I want to know is, how are you guys doing exterior white? My whites are really gray; I can't seem to get good white materials.Bobby Parker

My analogy is a guy who kept telling me to make the wall render colour the 'shade of a light cloud'....it took two days to satisfy him LOL
Anyway, do it in post I reckon, if you can, or adjust the colour bleed from stuff in properties to keep 'white' more white. It's a perceptual thing and really hard to nail someone else's perception of what level it should be imo, other than by 'up a bit/down a bit' with them

Was there a link to forum posts on the reasoning behind using vraysun as well as hdri?
I'm confused why when lighting my scene with, say a PGskies hdri, the scene always looks like its flat, not enough contrast between shadows and highlights etc, yet you see so many renders where thats all they use and rarely that they seem to all be a bit overcast etc. Do you use it to boost the contrast because you were finding a similar thing?

That's exactly why I use a VRay Sun with my HDRI, to get nice shadows. I am surprised people question this since it was the way to do it years ago. There were several scripts that place the VRay Sun on your HDRI's hottest spot, which is the sun. If I don't have the VRay Sun then it is overcast, which works in some cases, but I like shadows.Bobby Parker

I liked the second house lighting , the first one is too warm for me
regarding HDRIs, if it have real high dynamic range it should easily give nice contrast and sharp shadow( sunny hdri of course)
HDRI Haven have very good collection and it is Free
