A project Im working on at the moment. Will be a 6000 frame animation. Am currently going through client revisions so thought I would post an image or two as I do some test renders. Since this will be animation only and not stills, the camera location is arbitrary.

pretty sweet image mate, I like it.

your mapping on the chair sides seems the wrong way around though

      Hi Percy,

That will look really nice animated.

I'm surprised that the designer put knobs on the cabinets instead of wire pulls if it's a retirement center. You guys are probably just doing the viz, right?

thanks frances. Yeah Im sure wire pulls would be a better way to go. The info from the interior designer has been good in some respects and bad in others. Of course after giving the client an initial draft animation, they informed me I had the wrong unit...lol Luckily the correct unit is nearly a mirror image minus some minor changes. So Itll be rendered normally then flipped in post.. Just got to make sure all my textures with text get flipped before hand. :P

I love the clg paint texture, highlights/reflections look just right. What kind of render times you getting so far?

that image took about 50 minutes including irradiance map, but Ive been getting hopefully good enough anim quality at about 15 minutes. We'll see how it goes...

Percy what is happening in places where celling meets wall? It looks like there is dirt or something. And why celling has so much reflection. Anyway I can't wait to see anim.

                      Very nice... congrats.

Can you explain how did you make the anisotropic reflections of the lamps in de celling. it looks amazing.

                      good work

thanks for the replies. The strange looking edges where the ceiling meets the walls i probably due to the moulding. I admit it looks a tad strange, it might be due to a very large vraylight i have pointing down that encompasses the whole unit. Been meaning to turn it off and see how it looks without it, it might be the culprit.

I cant recall for sure, but there might not even be reflections on the ceiling, as I kept turning trace reflections on and off during tests, it might just be specular only as if I recall they looked pretty similiar. Its just a simple diffuse material with a small bump map and glossy speculars.

I have another low res anim due by tomorrow and the final next wednesday so I better get crankin... All I can say is thank god for vray proxies and the 3/gb switch... if not for those, this would never have progressed this far.
