  • Small Modern Living

Another work completed recently, a small modern living.
Lighting setup is quite simple, just a physical sun/sky. Sofa model from 3Dsky, the rest of the furniture modeled by me in Cinema4D. For the carpet I've used the native C4D Hair system coupled with Vray Hair Next Material, with the introduction of 5.1 update I've rebuild the carpet using Vray Fur and I've got pretty much the same results, but faster
All shaders are mine, all fabrics from my upcoming bundle and wood floor build from scratch for this scene. Render time for a 4K image was about 6 hour using a single non OC 8core machine, noise threshold 0.007 (could have been a lot faster with the latest update using the Intel denoiser).
Work completed in a couple days, it could have been improved with a bit more time but unfortunately the deadline was very tight.. maybe I'll play with it a bit more in the spare time.
    Comments and critics are welcome

The actual size images look quite noisy....it doesn't totally detract from the overall quality but is much different to the noise values in the others you posted today/yesterday.
Just an observation, not a crit.

I think the bloom is way too much imo, plus they look to be a bit too 'sharpened' - again, only imo and that will vary depending on viewing platform etc. Easily fixed if necessary

For a couple of days....job done

      Thanks
It looks noisy because there's no denoiser at all here, unfortunately on C4D build in denoiser is not that good so sometime I do not bother using it, (I was discussing the issue with Vlado here in this topic https://forums.chaosgroup.com/forum/...-store-concept ), I could fix the noise in PS easily but as said deadline was extremely tight.
I would like to improve the image as soon as I've some spare time because I like the mood of this room and I think that working on some details like more accessories and outside buildings can get better

One thing Ive wondered with arch vis stuff, especially interiors that show art on the walls is, where do you get your images? And how do you get clearance to use anything you find online for commercial work?

Looks really good. The render time is really high. I haven't had an image take more than an hour, in a long time (years). Are you using all of V-Ray's defaults? I haven't touched a V-Ray setting in a long time, either.

This is looking great! Nice lighting and overall colors.
I loved the floor material too, where did you get the textures if I may ask?
The render time for 8 core machine isn't too long imo.on my 64 cores machine 1 hour render is normal for such interior ( usually with a bit less noise tho) .
As for the noise, I'm not sure if C4D have intel denoiser yet; it is great for stills .
give it a try here and I think you will like it.

Simply, I love to put pixels together! Sounds easy right : ))

                    Thank you guys!
Render time are expected for an 8core CPU from 2019, luckily now we have the Intel denoiser on C4D too so the same image can render much faster without having to care about the noise, probably today it will take half the time or less, that means under 1h using an high core count CPU
M.Max I build the floor texture from scratch, back when I’ve rendered the image multisubtex was not available on Vray for Cinema4D, so I’ve backed the texture using this technique:
                    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yGpoJHX54og starting from real geometry.

Really nice. Please can you share some setting of how you done the carpet with vray fur?
