  • Red and Green dots

    Hi

When I put my RPC cars into my scene, red and green dots apear.
I have talket with RPC about it, and they do not have a selution to the problem,
so is it V-ray that causes it

There was some option in the RPC objects that could help in some cases (about reflections or something). Other than that, we do not have a solution to the problem other than not to use RPCs.

    Best regards,

I think that the best way to not loose time is just to put them in an other layer and render them with scanline.
Try also to render them in vray without GI because Vray shadows are faster than scanline, if it run without sploches that's the better way.
      Hope that could help you

RPC is notorious for causing problems. The people at Arch Vision are very reluctant to improve their product, they only seem interested in producing more and more libraries for you to purchase.

One thing you can do to avoid this is to composite your final images together. It is something we have been doing for quite some time now, and works very well. Especially for large complex scenes that would otherwise have many many problems.

Render out your scene without the cars using Vray. Now load that image as the background for your rendering, and render the same camera view with ONLY the cars. When you save, save as a tga with alpha channels. Go into Photoshop (or other image editor with layer abilities). Put the image with no cars as your base. Put the image with cars on top. Use the alpha channel as a selection, and delete everything but the cars from the top layer. Now you can go back and use your erase tool to "fix" and cars that should go behind trees or other elements.

This is a pretty simple compositing trick, but it should get you started and you will learn as you go. There are much more complex ways to generate alphas that will make things alot easier. Good luck.

yeah I RARELY render images with rpc's in there. Since they require no lighting data, why would you hamstring yourslef by rendering them with everything else? 5 minutes of postwork is all thats necessary to incorporate them into your scene and youll have alot more flexibility in the end.

            RPC issues!

I have found RPC works best if you render them seperatly than add them in via photoshop. also If you want to keep some nice shadows read this post, it includes and awesome RPC script by Christopher Grant from Script Spot! Chris developed this tool because RPC would only cast a good shadow if it was turned a certain way.... But Not Anymore!

we have almost stopped using rpc's all together because of the buggy plugin!

turbosquid has some nice .psd files with humans, and 3d trees saved out as vray proxies work a lot better than rpc's ever did!

                so by by rpc!

ps anyone wanna buy +10 rpc libraries .. lol what a waste!

The RPC High Res images arn't all that bad! But everything else just needs to go away....they either need to redo there content or something..... But I do agree there are allot of awesome place for better trees like Bionatics & Xfrog they all have some awesome content to check out!
                    Thanks

hey simply go into the rpc properties and turn off the VRAY GI, then adjust the lighting for the rpcs themselves, and they will work just fine.
That will also get rid of the colored dots.
