  • Two simple living rooms

    Hi everyone,
I want to share with you a couple living rooms I've done recently.
    Constructive critics are always appreciated

      Very nice work. I really like the f1st, 6th, 7th, and 8th.

Oh yeah, they are are a bit simple aren't they...they need a bit of decoration LOL

The only thing I notice is that the grey fabric on the stool looks too crumpled, as on the sofas, like the normal/bump is too high.
        The rest looks suitably pricey

They are simple compared to my usual scenes
I totally agree about the bump amount of some fabrics, it is way too much, I'll pay more attention in the future

Not exactly my cup of tea in terms of interior architecture, but i have to say this came out amazing! Love it, congrats

                Thanks

I forget to post some statistics about the scene:

-In total about 8million polygons + render instances.
-Lighted using my HDR for night and daylight, area/ies light for ceiling spotlight and spherical area for the table lamps, all source calibrated.
-Everything modeled by me in C4D except the curtains, most material created from scratch plus a few metal from my bundle.
-Rendered in Vray 5.2, about 4h for 3k images using an 8core CPU.
-Almost no postproduction, just some tone mapping inside the VFB and some minor tweaks in PS.
-About a week to complete the two rooms.

The chandelier was quite challenging, it was custom made and I only had a few low res reference photos, but once again Procreate saved the day

I've created a map rather quickly, then I've used the vectorizer in C4D to create the main structure, distributed additional details using cloners, then everything inside an array.

                    Good looking images Sirio!

How do you go about source calibrating your lighting if you don't mind me asking? I'm assuming you load the IES from the suppliers and adjust the rest accordingly.
