  • Waiting for the rain to stop

This has been a fun personal project
Got inspired after a local trip to Japanese temple when showing a friend around. Got to tackle a lot of things I don't usually do like character creation/rigging and fur.

Nicely done and a great mood...is it animated?
And, um...should we be at all worried about that animal? There's a certain malevolence emanating from those eyes.......

Thanks you two for the nice words <3 And no I don't think you'll have to worry. It's probably just the burning hatred for mosquitos in its eyes. :P
Sadly it's not animated yet. I've played around with the idea of making the scene a 5 to 10 second loop but currently don't have the time to set it up and to expand the character rig for animation. But it's definitely something I plan on doing.
        Cheers,
        Oliver

I love stuff like this, very nice. But the eyes are too fuzzy for my taste, it looks like it has a very bad case of a horrible cataract in both eyes, which calls for immediate medical treatment. The iris are so fuzzy that it's hard to determine where the creature is looking at, as if the eyes are part of the fur.
I really dig the SSS candle behind it and the material of the shrine. Nice colors overall!

Wait, what, you're allergic to mosquitoes? Is that a thing? How did you even survive up until now?
              A.

Yeah I'm allergic to their bites...similarly to the bites of certain spiders...crane flies I think...maybe others...dunno.
I live in the UK but I have a brother who lives in Seville. I've visited a load of times over decades and more often than not
mosquitoes bite me and the bites swell, get nasty and are generally painful and unsightly....almost bubonic lol
If I didn't love the country so much I'd avoid it like the plague

I lived in upper MN for 18 years. Their state bird is the mosquito (not really). We had nine months of winter and three months of so many bugs you couldn't leave the house. Great images!
