  • Contemporary Mountain House Interiors

These interiors are for a house I posted previous exteriors of. All of these are being used as pre construction sales images. They will be in the MLS, real estate magazine ads, web site, etc.

All comments and critique welcome as always.

The second image works better, in the first one the outside background should be way more overexposed to be believable

Thanks for your comments sirio76! Of course you are correct especially when thinking of traditional photography.

In this case the renderings are imitating current real estate photography techniques which use digital, blended multiple exposures.

The view of the mountains is a critical part of this. Thats what they are selling. All real estate photography of existing homes being done here make use of multiple exposures so the inside is correctly exposed and the views thru the windows are also correctly exposed. More like what you would see vs what a single exposure photo would capture.

Also the backplate of mountains was taken at 45mm focal length (similar zoom to human eyesight) while the rendering of the interiors are more like 24mm to show as much of the space as possible. Add to that, the site is a dense forest that will be cleared for construction. Impossible to photograph the actual view at this time. So I took the photos from as near to the site as I could to get the unobstructed view.

When asked whether it’s “real” or not my reply is usually “it’s a simulation…..but it’s better than real!”
