    Hello,

I've been using this home for a little while now to learn vray and max. Thought I would post it to hear any feedback. It's just a raw image right now other than toning down the exposure.

I can see the stone wall repeating, but not sure how to address that... better texture!?

Also, any post workflow or rendering optimization advice?

Anyways, any feedback would be appreciated,

    Looking pretty good!

    Some suggestions:

    1) I would add some contrast (this can be done in post)
    2) I would add some variation to the grass to make it look a bit more realistic.
    3) A nice, warm light coming from the interior would give this image a really nice touch.

Otherwise, looks pretty good for a 3Ds Max and V-Ray beginner. Have you had experience working with architectural renderings before?

I've attempted to learn here and there over the years with Max and Corona, but would always have to drop it a few weeks in... then try to re-learn everything when I picked it up again. Started trying to learn Vray a few months ago. This is the furthest I've ever been able to take a project.

Thanks for your input! I'll work on your suggestions

So I setup all my RE layers in photoshop and made all my adjustments, but now I want to change the tint of my walkway lights, or turn some off, ect.... Am I only able to adjust those in the frame buffer... then re-import back into photoshop?

Go have a look at the Light Mix functionality in the vfb and you will be pleased.
Other than doing this in the vfb you would need to output all the necessary render elements and do those tweaks in PS.
It is far simpler to do it via the vfb, so would advise that route.

Re. the other questions you asked:

The repeating stone texture...either extend it in PS manually or yes, find another that has a larger coverage area...there are many many free ones online or excellent paid versions too.
Post workflow is entirely project-dependent, so no real answer to that, although many people are doing most if not all corrections in the vfb, as it's so capable.
Rendering optimisation is all pretty much covered with the default settings, apart from certain cases where the values may need to be tweaked. Lucky us eh?!
Vray is not as complicated as it used to be and has advanced with speed in all areas in a very short time. Your render adequately shows this, as it's a great result already
