  • The Old Lurker arrives

After lurking on this and other forums for some time now, I've finally finished an image worth posting. It took two days from start to finish.

    Comments welcome.

Looks good, although it is pretty dark, but like Da_elf said some driveway lights would help out with that.

And those two stone faces that are alot brighter than the rest are pretty distracting

I really like the driveway material... giving it that wet look! looks good

the house offers allot of detail! most people in a high-end house such as this liek it nice alite up at night! driveway lights, tree lights, shrub lights! etc...But I can see some really good work in this image!
          Thanks

Thanks for all the comments. Looking at it again with a fresh pair of eyes, I can see where the "dark" comments are coming from. This neighborhood community has some pretty strict light pollution guidelines, so I had to be careful. Maybe I'll go back and add some more accents when time allows.

yea, how about a giant brush fire right across the street? That ought to move some real estate.

It's always hard on these types of images to get the low lighting levels just right. I think it's generally easier to see the lower end of the spectrum on lcd monitors which I think you are using, right?

Anyways, I like it . You totally nailed those driveway reflections and the subtle reflections on the roof too. I would just lighten it up a little, giving the landscape a stronger environment light that is suggested by your very saturated sky. And then in contrast your house lighting has a very warm tone to it which is great - just give it a little boost. Think of it not as brighter lights, but a longer exposure.

Hope you don't mind me messing with it, but I couldn't help it! I worked on the lighting a little, and also tried to create an effect that naturally draws you into the image, of which the main attraction is your lovely house.

But in the end, it's all about how satisfied the client is, and I'm sure they were ecstatic with your work.

Awesome! The only thing that jumps out is the really bright reflection on the middle window. But this is much nicer.

                        Thanks.

I feel kinda stupid now for posting the first image.
