Looks fantastic! No white fluffy clouds? I have been hearing that a lot lately from clients . "We like blue skies with white puffy clouds"

Thank you Bobby. I liked the way it came out but....I don't trust myself anymore. So, it really helps to get a second expert opinion an of course I also always welcome critique.

Agree that adding in some clouds to that sky wold be good. The client commented "that's a lot of sky". I think in the end I will be shifting the back plate to show more mountain side and thus less sky so this will be addressed one way or another.

The client has requested some minor revisions to the geometry of the structure. He is also having difficulty providing an image or reference for the actual stucco color he wants, I'm waiting on that.

The other thing I am hopefully going to be able to convince him not to do - he wants to elevate the view and look down at the house a little bit (like from a drone) because he wants to see those little secondary shed roofs better. For some reason they are important to him. Bad idea imo and I hope it can be avoided. I'll post an update when revisions are done.

      Thanks again!

Yeah, it is strange what some people want to see. I spent an hour yesterday on a zoom call with an architect, so he could pick out his views ( don't like when that happens). Columns in the middle of the frame, no focal point; no interest in composition. I can tell you where this project is going to go!

I enjoy going back to my images a week later, which gives me a different perspective,

Looks good. Not your fault, but the roof looks like it was generated by an Ai architecture-wise, not related to your rendering.

Is the glass being used on the house a kind of tinted coloured glass? Im seeing a lot of purple in the reflections, but not so much in the background. If the glass is tinted to do this, then it'd make sense.

More emphasis on the features of the house, like the mentioned roof. No need for drone shot for that:

Hi and thank you for your comments! Interesting, valuable and helpful.

Regarding the glass, on advice of another prolific and respected arch viz member here, I did add some blue tint to the glass. However, most of the blue is coming from a reflection plane positioned off camera with a photo of the other side of the valley, with a lot of sky, mapped on it. the sky in that reflection plane is being reflected in the glass.

Regarding the composition type devices you show that give a stronger focal point. Of course you are correct in using the techniques of atmosphere hazing out the background, heavy vignette and a sort of glow spot on the upper apex. However, for my clients these devices, as effective as they are, are almost never accepted. The cliffs and mountain side in the background is as important to show as the house. It's a major selling point. They are also very focused on showing the materials with out too much variation. The appearance of the wood and stucco are things they get stuck on.

I like your suggestions and will experiment using some limited vignetting and also achieving a better focal point with the light hot spot.

                  Thanks again for your comments!

FWIW the client and the several architects and realtors that are involved in these 4 houses are super happy with the renderings and have expressed that to me more than a few times. I have been paid almost immediately by express mail for each invoice. They say they are getting a fifth plan ready to send with maybe a sixth to follow that.

I might suggest you try (if you haven't already) a double glazing effect to give a bit more life to the glass instead of the blue tint. This can be achieved very easily. See the attached max file.
You can also try using the align highlight tool in max to place vegetation behind the camera to add layers of reflections to the glass.

I add blue in post, and pretty subtle. I also add trees behind the camera for reflection and foreground shadow. After V-Ray Next, I can barely see my HDRI reflection in my glass.

Thanks Bobby. I added some blue to the glass w vfb effects layer/cryptomatte mask. I do have a couple trees off camera casting some shadow on the street. Most of the reflection is from the reflection plane. I am going to try the suggestion above of using the align highlight tool to position off camera reflected elements. Have not used that tool and thought it was for aiming lights, so I am curious how it might speed up positioning items to be reflected.
