VRay sky tests

Hi,

there are some sky tests I did before I will proceed with the scene.

I waited forever for V-Ray clouds, but I don't like how they look, now that we have them. Do you like them?

I generally like them and have used them a few times directly in the images. I tend to use the cirrus clouds a lot as I think they end up looking better though. Biggest problem I think with the standard clouds is that they tend to often look "gritty" in places rather than soft and fluffy. Regardless though, having the clouds and sky visible in reflections is fantastic even for times when I still replace the sky in photoshop.

Yes, I do like the cirrus clouds. The other ones look gloomy. I use an HDRI, so I don't really use them, unless I have to.

Not bad, I could use for some concepts, thanks for sharing the various looks.

I think they work the best when animated, so you're not fixing your view on them so much.
Otherwise, they don't generally look realistic...more of a painterly look to me.

I'd rather have them than not though and they've been enormously useful, so here's hoping they
can be even further improved upon

After three days I think I overdone them in photoshop.
Iam preparing animation in different scene and they are really nice. What I found at last in my opinion I need to tweak them in a term of contrast and so on to look how I want them. But after that I think they are good. When the animation will be ready, I will post it in forum, dont worry.

Oh ok, that's a shame but still good to see...reading that it's basically 80% PS is interesting and takes me back to
those early days when that was the only way to have so much vegetation. He did a great job...makes me want to recreate it entirely in 3D...
