  • Render selected giving different results

    Hello,

I'm having some texture issues rendering through the cloud so I thought I'd try to render selected locally (render selected didn't change anything through the cloud). Doing this is giving me completely different results though. Both images are done locally in the attached examples, but as you can see, there is a huge difference. Just wondering what I'm doing incorrectly?

Thanks for any help in advance!

*I've also attached my selected render through the cloud as the results are quite different*

Funny thing I had something similar in my last project (vray 6 update 1.1). Render select gave me strange results, like come color tint. Resetting the settings solved it but since I have never experience that it took sometime to look for answers.

Thanks for the quick response! I tried resetting, but no dice. Will post what works if I find it

i noticed that, this happens when our render settings are low... so for 'bucket' type image sampler.. if my min & max subdivisions are 1 & 24 respectively.. the patch renders matches with previous render perfectly... may be due to distribution of samples..

I found this recently. I cant say for sure its the reason, but I had a render of a car, and I wanted to only re-render the tyres, so I added them to a select set and made them a render mask selection in render settings. The tyres had different lighting on them to the beauty. When I turned off the isolate render mask, and rendered the whole car, the tyres were "normal" again. I cant say for sure whats going on, and I havnt had time to test the scene, but when I read this thread, it did seem to be a similar issue I had.

If you are using a forest pack color correct on the scattered gravel, that is known not to work in chaos cloud….yet. I found that out because of over exposed/too bright meadow scatter.

another less likely possibility is if you are using the vray bitmap. Then there is a setting/drop down box for how the texture map is loaded re gamma. That has caused over exposed issues for me like you show. Not sure if that is applicable to an issue with cloud rendering so….just throwing it out there.

if you post it to the cloud rendering section of the forum the moderator there (vladimir?) is pretty responsive and can probably help you. You will likely need to send him your scene

Are you using "Auto Exposure" or "Auto White Balance"? I remember having problems with different results for region render compared to the whole image when these were enabled. (in v-ray for SketchUp)
