Now I got nothing to do while this damn Hollywood strike continues, maybe I should start on a Short Solent seaplane to complement the Ship model flying up above.
This ship is loosely based on the SS.Alamosa 335 feet long that participated in both World wars.
Besides Maya , the tossed ropes and canvases were simulated in Marvelous Designer and model was painted mostly in Photoshop, Hull was painted in Mudbox using 3 UDIMs of 8K each.
Model is a mix of Subd and polygon modeling.
I also learned a lot about naval architecture and history on this project and will try one with the WW1 camouflage, there were some really interesting graphic designs made during the war.

Based on the research , there's still another 20% or more in terms of detail and objects that would be nice to model but I need to get back to hand drawing and studying that I've been neglecting.
So just to let anyone know...I'm available for work.
Thanks and I hope you guys like the ship. Click image for larger version Name:	NZ_Expedition_2K.png Views:	0 Size:	4.11 MB ID:	1187385 Click image for larger version Name:	Wire2k.jpg Views:	0 Size:	414.2 KB ID:	1187386

3 months well spent I'd say...very awesome indeed of course

Hopefully the strike will result in a win for all those affected and also that this occurs rapidly.
It's long past time it seems and the parasitic execs clearly need to learn some lessons

One thing that stands out that could make the images better in my opinion, is that overall the ship seems quite dry for being on water.

Great work! I love the deck image and the wireframe the most. The dirt on the sides looks a bit repetitive/tiled. I don't know how such ships look like in real life though, might be accurate.

Thanks Vladimir, I see what you mean, I guess I didn't notice when I painted in Mudbox, it's not a tiled texture, is just that I was painting with a large 16K hull image projection and must have repeated the stroke over the same area and didn't notice obviously, I'll address that for the final images.Cheers.
