Having bought my copy of ZBrush several months ago, I finally found myself with a bit of spare time to try it out. Therefore, this is my first attempt at using ZBrush for my artwork. I have only learned the basics of this great software so there's still much more to know.

Anyway, I hope you like him.

    High resolution image.

Base model in 3dsmax. Sculpting, texturing and displacement in ZBrush. Lighting and rendering with VRay 1.45.70 using global illumination and traditional lighting techniques. Composite in Photoshop.

        Great work Richard.
How did you do the hair?

Also there is some tiling on the wood behind Ronald!

          Yeah...I should fix that tiling....

The original base model was modeled in 3dsmax and then exported to ZB. My latest character, however, has been modeled entirely in ZB using ZSpheres which, I have to say, are pretty damn cool.

The hair is a photo composite - my father's hair, actually.
