  • Vanatge the Beast

I am impressed with Vanatge. I have been flexing my 4090RTX muscle with GPU, getting render times of about an hour. With my CPU, the same render in about 3 hours. I thought I would try Vanatge for some stills and 4K finals in 2-minutes!

Great times for sure, plus overall I reckon your clients will be happy (for me, they feel a little too soft from the denoising).
Also, considering the amount of work you always seem to have (very envious of that btw) it's going to revolutionise your throughput

The quality isn’t 100%, but that could be because I am a newbie with Vanatge. Yes, I am blessed with work!

The quality (softness thing) is simply a trade-off for speed really. It's designed as a realtime app, so until the hard tech is capable of more, then it'll be constrained somewhat.
If I was to consult my future-time-knowledge device I'm sure it would say that all will be gpu eventually

I'll fix a few things and render again, using GPU to compare the difference.

If you're rendering just stills, try the Intel denoiser.

              Great looking interiors!

              The quality isn’t 100%
I think it is really nice especially for 2 minutes of render time.

It makes me happy to hear that you are using your RTX4090 with V-Ray GPU and Vantage and you are pleased with the performance so far.

You should test it without the denoiser and see what you get. Sometimes a little grain adds more realism. Glad to have you back with Vantage...Now we can share stories.

Is the only way to disable the denoiser through Max? I don't see anything in Vantage.

Just uncheck it in the render dialogue window when you're saving your stills.
