  • Testing Vantage with 360 Cube 6x1 tours

I am not a fan of 360 tours for multiple reasons. One of the main being they take forever to render.

I decided to take 2 old projects and set them up for 360 tours and render with Vantage.

I am running an RTX 4090
    Resolution 12288 x 2048

I didn't time this first one but it completely rendered while in a 30 or so minute meeting
    38 Cameras total

So the next one I decided to go all out and I rendered 317 camera at 12288 X 2048
All 317 rendered within 8 hours
unfortunately forest pack didn't want to play nice so grass is just a plane.

I don't know if I'm convinced that 360 tours are the best product for my clients but, having the new found speed on the render side make it a lot more feasible on my end.

Nice! 360s are great for photo-real tours on the web.

However things like ThreeJS, GLTF / GLB, Web3D are really picking up pace, and offer a real-time experience on the web too, just don't expect it to be photo-real, high quality meshes, etc, more like a gaming experience from a few years ago

Sweet! Without jumping into UE5 or being able to script myself, do you have a favorite workflow or two that quickly converts 3ds max and vray into one of those?

We use Sketchfab on occasion (examples below) but I'd love to know what other workflows you've found handy.

My experience has been with working with software developers creating custom platforms, but one app that's caught my eye is 3D Vista....

Seems like a good, budget friendly, option to try out.

In terms of workflow, there isn't any Vray to GLTF plugins or scripts that I know of, and Max's GLTF exporter is pants.

Instead my workflow is to convert materials to Physical Materials, then export using Babylon's exporter (in Max 2023) https://doc.babylonjs.com/features/f...porters/3DSMax
