  • Chemical experiment animation

    Hi,

I finished this animation last week. It's for an exibition and it illustrates the miller-urey experiment which is proof of how organic molecules could be formed with only the gasses that were present in the earths atmosphere a loooooooong time ago.

Hope you like it, I had to do it really quick (+-64H from start to finish, including rendering, adding the 2d stuff and figuring out how to animate this ).

    (flash video)

    regards,

    wouter

      Hehe yeah its basically this:

You heat up water so it vaporizes (=sea+sun). You add four gasses (old atmosphere) and sparks (lightning). Then cool it (rain). That cycle goes on for a week and during that week all kinds of new products are formed. Some are at the base of how life could have been formed.

Well thats pretty neat, even tho i cant understand most of the text

I take it you didnt use any fluid simulators for the filling of the tubes... as that would have seriously made a mess of your short time frame.

        Well done.

Its really nice, and makes the experiment very very clear. Did you have to come up with the schematics or were they supplied?
