  • Laneway House

This year has been quite a different shift in projects for me. In my city (Vancouver, BC Canada), a lot of houses are getting demo'd and replaced with tri and quad plexes with laneway homes (which is basically where the homes garages used to be). Maximizing the livable square footage is the main parameter, which makes it challenging to keep an Architecturally pleasing design. However, I think the team nails it more times than not. This is one of the many laneways, but my favorite so far that'll be built next year. I'm not sure if the final cladding will be red or not, but I'm fighting for it!

All the units start at $1000 / sq.ft... At this rate, I'll be working / living out of an RV very soon!

$1000 / sq.ft is insane. Hey, I moved from MN to CA two years ago and lived out of my RV for three months; not so bad .

How much do you want for it Bobby? You don't even have to move it, I'll just live on your driveway... it'll be great! I'll just need an extension cord and your wifi pw.

I have it stored about an hour away. To store it locally would have cost $1600 a month! The prices of everything are insane, except for the work we do.

          I really like this.
It's not the flashiest project or architecture, or the most gorgeous views but the cg is really well integrated. For my taste the composition/aspect is great, plus that red cladding is a winner for sure

Hahaha! I really like this comment!

Honestly, my main goal for this was to get it built red... which I think the new direction is heading towards. I like the architecture, it's simple, well laid out and clean. The only direction for the image was to showcase the contrast of old and new. A rule I was told very early on was to 'keep it simple'

            Always appreciate the feedback fixeighted!
